Offshore Support Vessels are specifically designed to serve for oil exploration and construction work at the offshore areas. The primary function is providing logistics support for offshore platform and handling anchors of oil rigs for towing them to a different location.
Drillship is a MODU (Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit) designed for exploratory offshore drilling of new oil and gas wells.
FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading)
FPSO is an offshore floating production unit which is designed to separate fluids from subsea into crude oil and natural gas onboard. Crude oil in the storage tanks onboard is offloaded onto shuttle tankers, and natural gas is not only used for self-operation but transferred to shore through the pipeline.
