Large, Environmentally-Friendly Offshore Support Vessels Assist Growing Offshore and Deep-Water Energy Resource Development.

“K” LINE established K Line Offshore AS (headquartered in Norway), an offshore support vessel company, with a Norwegian partner in 2007. The company ordered the six most advanced new vessels in 2007, chartered a platform supply vessel (PSV) in 2008 and began independent operations in the North Sea.

Since June 2011, we have provided safe, efficient, environmentally friendly and high-quality offshore support service for offshore production and drilling facilities in the North Sea with a fleet of seven vessels.

Electrical Shore Connection

Since the commencement of our service, we concluded numerous short and long-term contracts with leading oil and gas companies and have built a strong track record in the field of OSV business. With the expectation of increasing demand of offshore development, we endeavor to provide high quality service with our operational expertise and the most advanced vessels.

On the environmental aspect, for example, in August 2017 KL Sandefjord, an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel, became the first offshore vessel to acquire the DNV GL class notation “Shore Power (electric power supply from land)”. Switching the electricity used in the vessel while in port to shore-based electricity not only reduces the amount of fuel used to generate onboard electricity, but also considerably reduces the amount of substances emitted into the atmosphere by the use of such fuel—including NO_{X}, SO_{X}, and CO_{2}—thus helping to protect the surrounding environment. KL Sandefjord’s sister vessel, KL Saltfjord, has also received the same class notation and, we plan to obtain Shore Power class notation for other vessels after installing similar equipment.
