Vehicle Carrier “DREAM DIVA” Involved in Collision

 

 

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) announces that the “DREAM DIVA,” a vessel currently under time-charter by “K” Line, was involved in a collision at around the position of 22 – 25.3N 113 – 45.9E on the way to Xinsha port in Guangdong province at approximately 21:00 on March 2 (local time). The following information has been determined as of 15:00 on March 3.


 

Updates concerning the Marine Incident

  

The DREAM DIVA collided with a local small ship, fuel oil of the DREAM DIVA was spilled out of its fuel tank. According to information from ship owners, the small ship sank and eight crew members are still missing. The leakage of fuel oil overboard had however stopped in consequence of completion of temporary repair of the damaged tank as of March 3. Temporary navigation was permitted by a shipping classification (KR) and the vessel arrived at Xinsha port on March 7 with the approval of the China Maritime Safety Administration.
