Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) organized the 9th Fair Competition Promotion Committee Meeting (a compliance liaison meeting) at its head office on March 6. The goal of this liaison meeting is to share information and strengthen the “K” LINE Group’s compliance activities. During this liaison meeting, 29 compliance personnel from 17 “K” LINE Group companies based in Japan actively exchanged views on the latest trends and initiatives.
A guest speaker from TMI Associates was invited to lecture at the liaison meeting on the importance of internal whistleblowing systems, the organizational frameworks companies are required to establish, the initial responses and neutrality that are expected of the personnel responsible for receiving internal reports and other key practical considerations in the operations of these systems in light of the amendment of the Whistleblower Protection Act.
The liaison meeting also included presentations on compliance measures being implemented by individual companies and a question-and-answer session to facilitate the sharing of information about these companies’ initiatives. The participants shared advice regarding compliance measures at their companies.
“K” LINE Group has established and enhanced a compliance structure in collaboration with its group companies. The Group aims to both grow sustainably and increase its corporate value.
