Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) received an order for the maritime transportation of train cars for the first phase of Cairo Metro Line 4 being delivered by Mitsubishi Corporation and The Kinki Sharyo Co., Ltd. to the Egyptian Ministry of Transportation. The first shipment of eight cars has been loaded onto “K” LINE’s IGUAZU HIGHWAY car carrier, which departed from the Port of Kobe on March 12, bound for the Port of Alexandria in Egypt.
People from the companies involved witnessed the train cars being safely and smoothly loaded onto the carrier on the day of departure. It is expected that more of these cars will be shipped in the future.
As part of its strategy for the growth of the car carrier business, “K” LINE is leveraging its extensive shipping route network, advanced maritime expertise and transportation capabilities to expand its high and heavy cargo transportation business and optimize its cargo portfolio.
