| "K" Line held the 4th "K" Line Maritime Academy (KLMA) Global Meeting on 14th and 15th of July in Tokyo. |
| Over 80 participants including instructors from each KLMA around the world, representatives of in-house ship management companies and concerned manning agents, President and CEO Kenichi Kuroya, "K" Line executives and staff attended this meeting. |
| |
| In the Instructors' Meeting on the first day, KLMA (Headquarters) and KLMA instructors discussed the present situation of seafarers' training which is executed worldwide and various points about them to be improved. |
| And we demonstrated new scenarios for enhancing Bridge Resource Management
(BRM) / Bridge Team Management (BTM) training which are positioned to prevent
major marine disaster training in the KLMA Master Plan. |
| |
| In the plenary session on the second day, KLMA (Headquarters) reported
the progress of measures and policies for securing and fostering seafarers.
Each ship management company introduced the original approach to training
and KLMA instructors introduced the situation and their effort at each
KLMA in the world. The discussions for those issues were executed very
actively and positively and all attendees shared KLMA's future challenges. |
| |
| Furthermore, KLMA instructors took the external training for their skill improvement on 16th July. |
| |
| According to the KLMA Master Plan 2010 which was revised this time based
on common consensus, we will accelerate the progress towards securing and
fostering good seafarers who fulfill our safety standards, assure the maximum
safety in navigation and cargo operation, maintain and improve the "K"
Line brand of Security, Safety and Trust, and then achieve "Synergy
for All and Sustainable Growth," the theme of our revised mid-term
management plan called "K" LINE Vision 100 KV2010. |
