| "K" Line extends environmental policies to chartered tonnage | ||||||||||||
| Following its achievement of ISO 14001 certification by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (Class NK) in February 2002, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd ("K" Line) has broadened its campaign to reduce and resolve the environmental impact associated with its ship operations, "K" Lines core business. | ||||||||||||
| Initially "K" Line has addressed the situation pertaining to its own fleet by developing and implementing a clear set of environmental measurements and policies. These include: | ||||||||||||

| Drawing on the experience gained from implementing ISO 14001 across its owned fleet, "K" Line is now extending this environmental management standard to its long-term chartered tonnage. | ||||||||||||
| In cooperation with the ship-owners, "K" Line will in future apply its policies and procedures to chartered ships as well, bringing closer its objective of providing ecologically friendly marine transportation services that minimise damage to the environment. | ||||||||||||
