Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS), a joint venture of Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation
and China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO). Their deliveries are scheduled for

Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation and the first ships constructed in China for
"K" LINE. |

| In regard to their design, deep and technical
considerations are being given to preservation of the environment. |
| a) |
Adoption of an electronic-controlled engine
(Kawasaki-Man-B&W ME-Type engine) promotes reduction of fuel oil consumption and
exhaust of NOx and Smoke with soot in very wide power range. |
| b) |
All fuel oil tanks will be positioned inside double hull
protected by double bottom ballast tanks in an inventive effort to prevent fuel oil spill
into the sea in case of collision or grounding. |
| c) |
Adoption of highest hydrodynamic technology on hull form,
especially improving bulbous bow and stern design, is expected to contribute to
enhancement of efficiency in propulsion capability and reduction of fuel oil consumption. |
| |
| As the industry is aware, "K" LINE is
providing its customers with a global networking service, operating some 60 car carriers.
Concerted and continual efforts are being carried out for upgrading quality of its fleet
to cope with future increasing market demand for space. The 3 newbuildings are aimed to
replace older vessels currently in service. |
| In reference to this years fleet
strengthening, it is being reported that two 6,000-unit car carriers are to be completed
at Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in October and December 2003. In the meantime, it has
been decided to charter in two 6,000-unit car carriers which are going to be completed at
