| Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" LINE)
is pleased to announce that a new joint venture logistics company, PT. "K" Line
Mobaru Diamond Indonesia (KMDI), has been established jointly by PT. "K" Line
Indonesia (49%) and PT. Mobaru Diamond (51%) which is the leading local
automobile-carrier-car owner/operator with top market share in Indonesia. The
automobile-carrier-car business of PT. "K" Line Total Logistics Indonesia, which
was established in March 2003, will be combined into KMDI’s business for future
expansion of group logistics business. Foreseeing the future ASEAN automobile market in line with the introduction of AFTA, dynamic volume increase in automobile transportation is expected within the Asia region. For that reason, "K" Line has decided to participate in carrier-car business in Indonesia in order to better serve our customers by providing an improved, high-quality land transportation method for automobiles. PT. Mobaru Diamond, our J/V partner, will bring their well-experienced business knowledge that will greatly contribute to the day-to-day carrier-car operations. By combining business knowledge and synergy effects with Ocean transportation and other logistics businesses, we can now offer far better service for this important industry through our new partnership that will be jointly contributing the maximum extent of each other’s strengths. KMDI will offer customers high quality logistics services not only in the automobile transportation field but also in the container drayage field as a next targeted service. |
