"K"Line's 3rd Distribution Center opens in Thailand

K Line (Thailand) Ltd. (herein after referred as "KTL") newly opened "K"Line Amata Nakorn Distribution Center (herein after referred as "KADC") within Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate in Bangpakorn District, Chonburi, Thailand on August 3, 2004.
KADC is the third distribution center (or warehouse) of KTL group in Thailand.
  1. Purpose of the establishment of KADC
    1. To promote KTL group's total logistics business in line with "K"Line's new management policy named "K"LINE Vision 2008
    2. To comply with increasing needs for this kind of distribution center or warehouse in this industrial estate located between Bangkok and Laem Chabang port, where about 260 factories including 170 Japanese makers have current operations and those numbers are expected to steadily increase because of its good location and facilities.
    3. To provide valuable customers with value added logistics services. As a total logistics service provider, KTL group is ready to provide not only a high level of distribution center facilities such as receiving and delivering of cargoes, storing, packing or container stuffing/un-stuffing but also customs formality arrangements, milk-run, container haulage and etc.
      Each segment of these services is supported by our state-of-art IT system such as "Bar-Code and Warehouse Management System" for distribution center operation, "Customer EDI System" for customs formality arrangements, "I-Haulage Systems with GPS" for truck and trailer operations including milk-run.
      KADC operation will be also supported by KTL group's truck/trailer depot, which was also newly opened in the vicinity of KADC within the same industrial estate on the same day.
      KADC is KTL group's third facility of this kind, by which we can provide customers with much better service through more flexible space management with the first facility (12,500m2 of warehouse space) at Bangna Trad Road 18 km and the second facility (10,000m2 of warehouse space) in Laem Chabang.
  2. Outline of KADC
    1. Characteristics:
      1. All weather operation with 24-meter wide canopy
      2. Completely one-way cargo handling operations with 80m of providing length for safety operation
      3. "SECOM" 24 hour online security and monitoring system
      4. Warehouse and inventory control with bar-code and warehouse management system
    2. Site Space: 36,200m2
    3. Warehouse Space: The first stage (currently): 7,200m2
      The second stage (to be opened in May, 2005): 7,000m2
    4. Strength of floor: 2.5 kt/m2
    5. Height of ceiling: 6.0m
    6. Platform: Width 6.0m Height 1.4m
    7. Canopy: Width 24.0m
    8. Dock Leveler 7 units

In these days, we have been experiencing a rapid increase of cargo movement or logistics business especially in the Automobile Industry, where a lot of car and parts makers have been increasing production, shifting the production line to Thailand or centralizing the distribution facility of car parts as an import/export center in Thailand.
Under such circumstances, the need for a much higher level of total logistics service is increasing. KTL group is prepared to timely comply with such needs by everyday efforts for continuous improvement.
