"K" Line establishes a New Black Sea Service

In December 2005 Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" Line) will commence a new weekly container service connecting Port Said with Turkish and Black Sea Ports. The new Black Sea service will be used for "K" Line's transhipment business to and from this region, and additionally third party commercial cargo on the same basis as the IBESCO services, which "K" Line presently operates connecting the UK, Scandinavia, Iberia, and the North Continent.

Two new buildings with 864 TEU capacity have been engaged on a long-term charter basis specifically for this new service. The first sailing of the new service is scheduled to depart from Port Said in late December 2005.

The calling ports of this service are: Port Said - Istanbul (Hydrapassa) - Odessa - Constanza - Varna - Istanbul (Hydrapassa) - Port Said

Mr. Sven Siemsen, "K" Line (Europe) Limited, has been appointed with effect from 1 November 2005 to the position of "Manager Short Sea Division". The K-EURO Container Business Group Short Sea Division will assume responsibility for of all "K" Line's European and Mediterranean own short sea container services and third party feeder arrangements.
