Launching of LPG carrier "Grace River"

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., Tokyo (hereafter called "K" LINE) is pleased to announce the launching of "Grace River", a 79,200m3-type LPG carrier built at Sakaide Shipyard of Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation on October 31, 2002. According to the time charter contract with Iwatani International Corporation, she will be involved in LPG transport mainly from Persian Gulf to LPG terminals in Japan and other countries in the Far East.

This vessel is a large and high-speed LPG carrier that is acceptable at most Japanese LPG terminals at full draft condition with about 45,000mt cargo, also equipped with special instruments that enable her to call at high-pressured LPG terminals prevailing in mainland China where import volume of LPG is rapidly expanding in recent years. With this new deployment, "K" LINE's LPG fleet consists of 3 VLGC (Very Large Gas Carrier), which will provide our customers with a competitive and reliable LPG transport service with maximum safety.
