| During the year ended March 31, 2000, 7.5 million units
were carried by sea in global trades, out of which "K" LINE carried 1.5
million units with 60 specialized ships. Our proportionate of share reached around 20 %.
As of March 31, 2000 we are operating 65 PCCs totaling 247,019 units with an epoch-making
case---the Nippon Highway with a capacity of 5,053 units of vehicles was delivered on
November 20, 1999. It is the first ship of the five RV carriers delivered during 1999 and
2000. Back in 1968 we took delivery of our first multiple-use car carrier, the Toyota Maru No.1(1250U/T). Since then, "K" LINE has consistently poured passion and energy to being the leader in the field of marine transport of vehicular cargo. In 1970, the Toyota Maru No.10, Japans first pure car carrier was input into service followed by the European Highway(4200U/T), the worlds largest and fastest carrier in 1973 Since 1968, we have been dedicated to expansion and technical innovation of our fleet to meet changing market needs, putting emphasis on safety in navigation and damage prevention. We will endeavor to further improve and strengthen our customer-oriented services throughout the 21st century. |
